Work has now been completed on the outside and the roof of the hall. New weatherboards have been fitted and painted along with a new colour bond roof , guttering and facials. The old original chimney on the rear wall has been retained ,bagged and painted. This was the fireplace in the kitchen for many years the only way water was boiled. Some of us will remember the kerosene tins hanging in the fireplace used for making tea and coffee. The Barbecue area has also been clad with weatherboard and is looking quite smart. The ground at the back of the hall has been levelled allowing the water to get away easier and grass sown. Concreting has been done around the back, western side and along the front of the hall incorporating a disabled access. An Expenditure Statement and photos of the works preformed have been forwarded to the Office of Rural Affairs with a very positive response received back, congratulating all for their effort. The Trust has been nominated for the Crown Trusts Award and also Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns “Bush Spirit “Award. The Bush Spirit Award is awarded to community projects that refuse to “give in” when facing a challenge. Many thanks to all who have contributed their time and talents helping with this project. The area behind the tennis court is in the process of being cleaned up, tress trimmed and rubbish burnt. When complete will enhance the appearance of our reserve and show our pride in our village.
