Playground History

In 2005 a group of residents gathered at the recreation ground to discuss the possibility of a new
playground for the children. Various obstacles became known including safely regulations and

Fundraising started and with the contributions from Mulwaree Trust, Bendigo Bank, Cortona
Resources P/l, Majors Creek Progress Ass Inc, Majors Creek Open Gardens, the community of
Majors Creek and with the Majors Creek Progress Association Inc becoming in in charge of the
project an order with The Playground People of Queanbeyan for the erection of the playground
including soft fall a total cost of $29,000.

With consultation with the Recreation Reserve Trust and the community including parents
with children a suitable spot for the playground was agreed to by both parties. November
